When skies and seas split
Each book consists of a card reproducing John Constable’s 1826 sketch The Sea near Brighton and one of ten different double-sided sheets. These depict the surfaces of water-soaked sheets of paper, the smooth surfaces having become wavy, swollen and buckled, and so reflect the atmospheric painting. The lower corner of the card has been cut off, notionally releasing its watery element.
Open edition, single sheets and card, or as a set of ten in a letterpress-printed folder, laser printed, 2019.
