Artist’s pages
Invited to produce artist’s pages for three editions of the Artist’s Book Yearbook published by Impact Press, Centre for Fine Print Research UWE Bristol.
On the yet unturned page, an architecture of the book and the physical trace of reading strategies is highlighted in an assemblage of plan, engraving and written text related to library buildings. (2016-2017)
Over recto and verso pages, is a circular Tango, this is based on Erik Satie’s composition Perpetual Tango from his Sports and Pastimes - the score’s lyrics read:
The tango is the dance of the Devil.
It’s the one he prefers.
He dances it to cool down.
His wife, his daughters &
his servants cool down that way.
(2018-2019)
Unrevealing of the content, the surface of the fore-edge presents a manifestation of the interplay of light and shade, creating a rhythmic display when fanned out. This image of a previous Yearbook is of many pages, and now it is on one page to be among the many in this year’s book. (2020-2021)
